Hans Christensen, 2009 graduate of Johnson-Brock, was recognized at the state capital in Lincoln on Monday, November 23. This recognition was made by the Commissioner of Education Dr. Roger Breed and Governor Dave Heineman who served as guest speaker for the event. Nebraska Career Student Organizations being honored that day included DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, PBL and Skills USA.Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) prepares students for careers in business or business-related occupations. Over 5,300 students in grades 7-12 in more than 140 Nebraska high schools participate in the FBLAinnovative leadership and career development program. Bringing business and education together in a positive working relationship, FBLAprovides students with the skills needed to successfully compete in the job market, pursue further education or manage personal skills. Benefits of FBLA membership includes business career preparation, community responsibility and leadership development.Hans Christensen was recognized for placing 1stin the nation in the Future Business Leader event this summer in Anaheim, California. This event honors outstanding FBLA members who have demonstrated leadership qualities, participation in FBLA and evidence of knowledge and skills essential for successful careers in business.
