Written by Nemaha County HeraldAuburn Resident Shirley Snyder was recently presented the Distinguished Educator of Reading award by the Nebraska State Reading Association at the group’s annual conference in Kearney. Snyder teaches elementary Title 1 Reading in the Auburn Public School system and has been active on the local, state and international levels of the Association since 1983. Marla Jones, a fifth-grade teacher with the Nebraska City Public Schools, presented the award. Jones also resides in Auburn.
